Keith  J. Miller, Esq. is one of the founding partners of Robinson Miller LLC.  He is an experienced commercial litigator who represents the Firm’s clients in New Jersey’s Federal and State Courts.  Keith was recently named as one of the “Lawyers Of The Year” by the New Jersey Law Journal.  He is included on the prestigious Super Lawyers list of the top 5% of New Jersey’s attorneys, and is listed as one of the “Top Attorneys In New Jersey” by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.

Keith has successfully resolved many complicated business disputes.  He regularly handles jury and bench trials, complex motions, arbitrations, and mediations.  He has briefed and argued numerous appeals in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the Supreme Court of New Jersey.  His wide-ranging practice includes counseling and defending management in employment and labor law disputes, negotiating collective bargaining agreements on behalf of management, defending negligence actions, representing secured creditors in bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings, resolving commercial real estate disputes, conducting corporate investigations, and handling intellectual property litigation.  Keith specializes in representing the Firm’s media clients, including many large newspapers, commercial websites, wire services, and publishing houses.  He frequently handles the defense of defamation lawsuits, Open Public Records Act cases, First Amendment cases, and reporter’s subpoenas.  Keith has made many successful applications to have Court proceedings and records opened to the public.  He successfully litigated and argued a landmark case in the Supreme Court of New Jersey expanding the scope of the State’s public access laws (The Times of Trenton Publishing Corp. v. Lafayette Yard Community Development Corp., 183 N.J. 519 (2005)).

Keith is active in New Jersey’s legal community.  Keith frequently is selected as a speaker and panelist regarding legal issues, and has given many continuing legal education seminars.  He is a Trustee and past President of the Rutgers Law School Alumni Association.  He is a member and past Chair of the Media Law Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and is an inaugural member of the Supreme Court Bench-Bar-Media Committee.  He is a Trustee of the Lawyers Advisory Committee to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and is President of the Historical Society of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.  He is also a contributing author to New Jersey Federal Civil Procedure (New Jersey Law Journal Books).

Keith received his B.A. in Economics from Fairfield University in 1988.  After working for a large Wall Street brokerage firm for several years, he attended Rutgers Law School in Newark, where he served as Managing Editor of the Rutgers Law Review.  Upon his admission to the Bar in 1993, Keith started working for the Firm that became Robinson Miller, LLC, where he is now a name partner.  Keith is a member of the Bars of the State of New Jersey, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Southern District of New York.  Keith is a life-long resident of Essex County, New Jersey, where he works and lives with his wife and three sons, and where he is involved with several civic and charitable organizations.
